where's the camera on manual vin input?

I saw a past video on You tube about a maxi Sys about it's built in camera, and that Autel is working on adding a feature in a future update that you would be able to do a manual VIN entry by simply using the camera to take a photo of the VIN # from the door jamb or VIN plate somehow. -

We have 2 way to detect Vin at first step 1- auto detect 2- manual input
When the auto detect doesn't detect the VIN we can use manual input, there we can put the VIN in manual or put in with camera by using the camera to read it
But in my device this features doesn't work

Don't know that feature. But to doing that you have to get some kind of button to press, in order to activate the camera. And when you click in VIN and it don't read automatically, the only buttons available is cancel or ok -

I have a feeling we will never see this happen. Like the tree function there does not seem to be any attempts being made to get it up and running. I sent support a message about this and never received a reply. I think it would be best they simply remove them from the tool rather then give us false hope that we will receive these features. -

Engineers have been working on the tree function, however, it's complicated and takes long time. -

This camera VIN photo mode you speak of was removed 2 months after the Maxisys came available.
Out of the 23 vechicals I used it on at that time only 2 vechicals VIN's would work via the photo mode. Could be the reason towards the removal as it just did not function correctly.
